Georgia governor signs order blocking COVID-19 mandates on businesses
QUOTE: Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp signed an executive order Thursday that blocks local governments from mandating COVID-19 restrictions on businesses.
Private sector businesses and sports teams can follow local COVID-19 requirements if they chose, but Kemp's order stops them from being required to do so.
Kemp said the order is aimed at protecting businesses and the state's economic recovery.
"Local governments will not be able to force businesses to be the city's masks police, the vaccine police or any other burdensome restriction that will only lead to employees being let go, revenue tanking and businesses closing their doors," Kemp said during Thursday a news briefing at the state Capitol.
Every year on the Fourth of July, we gather for cookouts, fireworks, parades, and family celebrations.
And we should.
America’s birthday is worth celebrating.
But somewhere between the burgers and the fireworks, it’s important to remember what we’re actually celebrating.
Freedom.
Not comfort.
Not convenience.
Freedom.
The freedom to speak our minds.
The freedom to worship as we choose.

The freedom to disagree.
The freedom to dream.
The freedom to fail and try again.
None of those freedoms happened by accident.
And none of them came without sacrifice.
Generations of Americans have served, fought, worked, struggled, and sacrificed to preserve the liberties we often take for granted.
Some paid with years of their lives.
Some paid with their health.
Some paid the ultimate price.
That’s why I believe Independence Day should be more than a party.
It should also be a reminder.
Because freedom isn’t something you inherit and forget about.
It’s something you protect.
Something you value.
Something you refuse...
We all know why the democrats won't be voting for this act! That would mean they would vote themselves out of money, power and a job! None of them could ever make the money they are stealing from the American tax payers. Most of them are not smart enough to land a legit job!!! The truth hurts!
